The Size Of The Soul: Principles Of Revival And Spiritual Growth.
We talked last week about Godly sorrow, that leads to repentance and salvation, in contrast to wordly sorrow that only regrets getting caught!
have really been living in that quote from A.W. Tozer, where i have really been looking in the mirror of Gods word as it relates to the life i’m living, and i have to tell you this morning, when you sit down with an open bible its one thing, but when you have pad and pencil, it doesn’t take very long to find out that some things are wrong! But it is a good thing that we let Gods word in and reveal to us the things we may be concealing or making provision for, you see there are some things that we may do, or watch, or listen too that we may consider that are really not that bad, i mean we are adults, and we have liberty right? But heres the thing, those things may not be that bad compared to how bad it really is in todays society, But they just are not good for ME where i am right now, see there are some songs that i like and still do, but i just dont listen to them anymore. there are some shows i just dont watch anymore, they are just not good for ME! you see the bible tells me this about myself:
Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

So as i continue on this journey, and thats what it is, this not my home, im just passing through, i already have a place reserved for me! King Jesus has already a secured a reservation for me, and all of my A commendations, He has given me the assurance of that so i dont have worry about anything:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. have really gotten off to my personal best start to the year and i pray that it been reflected through the messages this month, and i pray that it encourages all of us and i pray that that it challenges us to go deeper.

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. let me give a little context of what the apostle Paul was dealing with at Corinth and why he felt the need to have to write these letters.
1 Corinthians
To Whom it is written:
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
1 cor.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
2 cor. 1:
Paul wrote for these reasons:
To draw the church back together in a spirit of unity as one body of Christ. the church was severely divided and split, fueding and arguing and forming cliques.
To deal with moral laxity.
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

3. To answer certain questions the church had requested Paul to answer, questions concerning marriage, christian liberty and rights, public worship, spiritual gifts, and the resurrection of the dead.
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

To vindicate the purity of his life and the authority of his ministry

But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness. For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me? And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all. For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
2. To crush the false accusations against him with a final blow, and to solidify the church more firmly in the gospel.
3. To encourage the church to complete its special mission project to the poor saints in Jerusalem and Judea.
The challenge
Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
